Energetic work is a bit ahead of its time - think acupuncture years ago when it seemed nutty and is now widely accepted and appreciated - but is becoming better understood. Energetics follow the universal laws of quantum physics and is completely based in science, but if you think Einstein was a bit of a nut then it may not be for you! I am a grounded person who appreciates science and its place in health; I also experienced the failure of western medicine and lost many years to autoimmune disease, so I don't blithely accept all science espouses. It's a piece, it is far from the whole pie. It is a big system that is slow to respond, and doesn't do a great job of managing what ails us in the modern world. I didn't start to get well until I left mainstream medical care and turned to holistic methods, which I did not do lightly. I recovered using energetic and vibrational healing principles, which led me to the root cause of my issues so I could heal at a deep level.
Importantly, while energetics does not diagnose disease, it can be more sensitive in finding imbalances long before they develop into actual symptomatology or disease. This is huge. The energetic model can be based on varying systems and beliefs, but there are commonalities across them. These systems are well documented and have been used for thousands of years in many cultures, the most common framework is meridians and chakras (Asian and Vedic principles). Bioenergy balancing follows the Traditional Chinese Medicine approach (as do acupuncture, acupressure, qi gong and other asian healing arts), which is the most well understood and has become increasingly commonly used. Donna Eden, who has mad skills as an energetic practitioner, identifies 9 systems (including the biofield system) that all work in connected ways in our bodies. The body is unbelievably elegant in its ability to carry out complex, constantly adjusting functions and make it look simple. Each meridian affects specific organs, tissues and functions. As a system they are a river of light energy running through our body that feed every organ and system, and can promote meaningful healing. Energetics sounds a little out there to people who haven't experienced the results. If you accept that gravity is real even though we can't see it, if you accept that you are an electrical being and that is why they paddle your heart to revive you, if you accept there are greater forces than we always see or understand, you may be amazed at how profoundly healing good energetic work is. Your experience will be dependent on the practitioner you use and how well their talents and views match your needs. Much like doctors, dentists, or any practitioner, your mileage may vary. My clients get excellent results, even after having seen a number of other healers and practitioners without moving the needle far forward. What I do works or I wouldn't make it my life's purpose to do it. I believe when you offer the body what it is asking for, you see positive change (or at least glimmers) reasonably quickly. There is plenty of science behind how and why energetics work. I have found trying to explain it to people beyond the very basics isn't very useful, one has to experience it to really get it for themselves and see how they respond. Some people who come to me are close-minded, some want to prove me wrong, most already know about the wonders of good energetic work or are open-minded skeptics (love them). I don't feel it is my mission to convince people about what I do, nor would I want to. As my son (a previous open-minded skeptic, now a believer) says, it has to be experienced to be understood. Feeling is believing. |
