"The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go
as we are and not be questioned" - Maya Angelou
Ultimately your home and work spaces create a feeling of calm and focus, and should feed well-being and creativity. This space is the representation of what you embody and how you conduct daily life. On a practical level, living spaces need to be clear of environmental toxicity, as well as belongings that no longer serve you and the stagnation that creates.
I use the principles of energetic flow in my home for daily living, it is an easy and enjoyable way to support a more beautiful life. All physical objects have a lower vibration - that is physics, for anything to take material form or become matter means it has a more dense and lower vibration. It is why an uncluttered space tends to feel better to everyone. When you curate your belongings and design your living space with the wisdom and principles of energy flow, it feels good and looks good and your body and mind follow the calm and balance.
Objects have opinions on where they would ideally like to be to create the best flow in a space, and when you listen you feel it. I studied Feng Shui books and took some classes, but it never resonated to where it took root. I saw friends pay big bucks to Feng Shui consultants during the craze, and none of them garnered any real results - nothing wrong with red strings tied to bathroom drainpipes, but if it doesn't spur positive change, it doesn't have value for me. Some items have one place they clearly want to be, others have more options; we decorate around those parameters and you get the look you want, and it feels calm and good because the energetics are right.
When it came time to downsize after 33 years in one house, it was a great opportunity to use energy testing to help me sort my belongings with more ease. The juncture when we choose (or are forced) to cull photos and a lifetime of accumulation that mark memories isn't always easy but it can be a great way to move ourselves to the next phase of life with more freedom and lightness. Not only did testing help me move items along with ease, I learned that each house has its own needs to address for a healthy and supportive living environment.
Ultimately living and work spaces should feel clean, fresh, and just plain good. It is the representation of what you embody in life and how you live it. Make it a space that calls in all the things you want - a safe, healthy place of peace, creativity, prosperity, and abundance.
